Welcome to the Asa H. Gordon Library's research guide for English Language, & Literature, a program in the Department of English, Languages, and Cultures. 

This guide offers recommendations for background resources like encyclopedias and other reference materials to help you get started on research, database suggestions, tips on how to structure your searches, information on journals, books both online and in the library, and how to cite in MLA format.
